Department Academic & Laboratory Narrative
The Department of Automobile Engineering at NHIT Durgapur drives eastern India's automotive technical workforce into the future. With the mobility landscape evolving rapidly from traditional internal combustion engines toward hybrid and fully electric powertrains (EV), our training blends deep mechanical mechanical assembly with automotive electronics. Students dismantle and reassemble multi-cylinder commercial vehicle engines, measure torque with eddy current dynamometers, scan ECU sensor error codes with Bosch OBD-II diagnostic tools, and test high-voltage Lithium-Ion Battery Management Systems (BMS).
